History: Los Tigres were the “second” team in Mexico City, competing for the loyalty of the capital’s “beisbol” fans with the beloved Diablos Rojos. The two clubs shared a ballpark for decades, and a Tigres-Rojos game was always a spectacle, with fans of each team occupying their own section of the stadium. Cheerleaders and brass bands added to the frenzy. The team won a championship in their very first season of 1955, making them “”El equipo que nació campeón” or “the team that was born champions”.
