History: After decades in the American Association, Columbus moved to the International League in 1955. Manager Cal Ermer took the Jets to the playoffs. Pitcher Al Jackson led the league in winning percentage, with a 15-4 record. Jackson went on to become the New York Mets’ winningest pitcher until a fellow named Tom Seaver came along.
