The Real McCoy´s 2016 Japan Magazine.

The Real McCoy´s 2016 Japan Magazine.

As the Wall Street Journal's cultural magazine, WSJ often takes a global view on the business of fashion. This issue, out this week, they've delved into the idea that perfection-obsessed Japanese entrepreneurs like Hitoshi Tsujimoto — of the Real McCoy's and NYLON stores — make "American clothes" better than we do here in the States. "None of this would be particularly surprising — blue jeans, college sweatshirts, and other American fashions were popular the world over — if not for the fact that Tsujimoto and others like him would go on to design and construct versions of iconic American…Read more …

New Balance Book, Volume 2, 2ND

New Balance Book, Volume 2, 2ND

New Balance partnered with boutique Japanese publisher “2nd” to print up a comprehensive magazine showcasing the new M1300JP2. The book features detailed photos and accounts of the production processes of the shoe — unfortunately for our English speaking readers, however, the publication is only available in Japanese text. We’ve long maintained the opinion that Japan does print magazines better and “2nd” is one of those. And more brands should follow in the footsteps of New Balance — there’s just something special about printed matter, especially when it’s focused around such great product.Read more …

The Cinder Cone.

Read more …
